Black Strobe (FR)
Myspace Black Strobe
Originally, the band was a duo comprised of Arnaud Rebotini and French DJ Ivan Smagghe. They became friends in the mid-’80s after repeatedly bumping into each other in front row at concerts. Both went on to work in the dance section of the Rough Trade record shop in Paris. They decided to form a band. The first thing Black Strobe recorded was an acid house track called Paris Acid City, which was featured on the Sourcelab 3 compilation in 1996. They didn’t follow it up until 1999, when they released Innerstrings, which referenced early ’80s synth pop a good two years before electroclash was cool. Meanwhile, their third single, Me And Madonna, became one of electroclash’s anthems. Black Strobe fuses together traces of acid house techno, death disco, and industrial, with their distinct sound. The duo recorded several tracks that appeared on numerous compilations and released a succession of succesfull 12" singles on the Output, Crostown Rebels, and Kitsuné with the massive hit Italian Firefiles. They have also remixed some of the most revered artists of the indie electronic movement, including Tiefschwarz, The Rapture, Bloc Party and Alter Ego, and have also lent their remixing skills to synth pop juggernauts Depeche Mode and EBM pioneers Nitzer Ebb. In 2007 The band realease Burn your own church produced by Paul Epworth best known for his work with Bloc Party, Maxïmo Park and The Futureheads. Now the Band is working on a new album.
Alexander Kowalski (DE)
Myspace Alexander Kowalski
Alexander Kowalski has come a long way. A techno producer and live performer since 1997, he has racked up an impressive volume of work including four solo albums, countless singles and remixes. It all began in the early 90's in Berlin as Kowalski caught wind of the first techno releases that found their way over from Detroit and New York. Soon he was producing his own material and making his debut live appearances at Berlin's premier techno club Tresor. It was here that he got in touch with Pacou, resulting in his first releases on the Tresor label under the pseudonym DisX3. Around that time, he also teamed up with Stassy of Sender Berlin in a collaboration called Double X.
Not long after, his first full-length release "Echoes" appeared on Kanzleramt (2001). But his big breakthrough came with the release of his follow-up album "Progress" in 2002. In the same year he also scored a hit with "Hot Spot" featuring Raz Ohara. Evolving and honing his production skills with every release, Kowalski was soon getting enormous acclaim for his innovative sound, which combined technical prowess and precision with a strong sense of emotion. After his third album "Response" in 2003, he shifted his focus to performing live across the globe and providing remixes for such artists as Agoria, Dave Gahan, Funk D'Void, Sascha Funke and Paul Kalkbrenner.
In the meantime Kowalski decided to indulge his passion for vocals, which he began to use more and more in his music. His wistful, lyrical track "Lock Me Up" (with Turner) clearly showed the potential he had unlocked with this approach, and in 2006 he returned with the album "Changes” on the Different label (PIAS), showcasing his new musical focus. Boldly crossing genres, he has produced songs featuring a wide range of vocalists including Khan ("House of Hell"), Fritz Kalkbrenner & Barca Baxant.
Kowalski's action-packed live sets are always powerfully intense. Having played in cities all over the world, he is a pro performer behind his gear who knows how to rock out the dancefloor with bass-driven techno, deep harmonies and straight beats, pulling out all the stops with his club anthem "Speaker Attack". His live skills as well as his exceptional discography have earned him a place as a favourite among critics who, over the years, have awarded him the titles of best producer, best live act and two-time nominee for the German dance award.
Check out Kowalski's new single "Damage" on Different. With a new album on the way for 2009, there is no slowing down!
Electric Rescue (FR)
Myspace Electric Rescue
Music quickly becomes a passion for electric rescue, at the age of ten. In 1989, his friend modske plays him a few masterpieces of his vinyl collection, and takes him to the « Boy », the only club in Paris where those strange sounding records are played. The « ravelation » is immediate.
The year after, he gets a pair of decks, and two years later he performs in the very first parisian raves (Mozinor, Osiris, Cosmos Factory…). Electric Rescue begins to organise regular parties in 1993 : he is part of the Mentasm crew alongside Laurent and Chaotik Ramses (both founders of the D-Mention festival). From 1996 to 2001, he drives the famous EL.UE private parties, gathering the techno heads of Paris for unforgettable nights. The adventure continues today under a new party name : Play.

Marco Bailey (BEL)
Myspace Marco Bailey
Its a burning, all consuming drive that can only be calmed down by getting into the music. Its an urge that luckily gets a positive outcome in the studio when Im working on a track just as long as it takes to get it to sound as it does in my head, or when Im puzzling on my dj-set until it releases the exact energy that makes the crowd lose it. I can best describe this burning, consuming urge as a positive disorder. Plainly positive because it gives a meaning to my life Belgians number one techno artist, is hitting hard on the back. He is about to embark on a world tour to promote his music, so he is seriously putting some graft into craft. His sets are usual top of the night big room sets, and is precisely the reason why he has been elevated to the first string of Techno Electro Minimal dj/Producer. Baileys innovation and reluctancy to conform to a particular genre of music is booth refreshing and unique. Awarded 3 times in a row as best Belgium Techno Dj. "No nonsense, just great music. Techno is pure energy. Giving yourself one hundred percent to make people feel good. Keep an open mind and you'll get the proper respect." With the release of his album " Rude Boy" on May 17th (2004) and the following live & dj tour, Marco Bailey once again jumps ahead of the competition. Fifteen years of sacrifice and dedication have seen Belgian's number one dj break through the national borders to join the big league of worldwide techno artists. This didn't go unnoticed by leading man Carl Cox who asked him to sign onto his new label Intec Rec twice. Killer tracks on in-tec, Primate, Zync and Tortured, confirmed his strong reputation as a producer over the last eight years. In return he set up MB Elektronics & MB Selektions to release quality music and remixes by the skills of adam beyer, umek, ben sims, claude young, cristian varela, redhead, axel karakasis, takaaki itoh... In 2000, he joined forces with Spanish pride Cristian Varela to form Pornographic Recordings, a respected outlet for musicians as diverse as Umek, Gayle San, Oxia etc.. He is a selfmade man with a mission to entertain people with the love of pure techno music. And that's exactly what he has been doing all these years: travelling from west to east back again, igniting dancefloors from Rio to Tokyo with his unique blend of underground sounds, funky techno and from Time to Time some nice minimal or Teck House sounds...even some great Boards of canada tunes as you can check on the mix compilation 160 min. of marco bailey or his latest mix cd PositiveDisorder..

Oxia (FR)
Myspace Oxia
Olivier Raymond aka Oxia was born in 1971 in Grenoble (France); got into “black music” (disco & funk) in his early teens. During the collage years Olivier befriended Stephane Deschezeaux, another young man passionate about this music. They made their debut on a local radio station broadcasting a radio show dedicated to Funk. Olivier, only 15 years old, started mixing, his mixes were influenced by a large spectrum of music styles: Funk, electro-funk (Afrika Bambaata…), italo-disco, new-wave (Depeche Mode, New Order… ) and the early Chicago and New-York house scene.
1991, Olivier & Stéphane bought their first bits of equipment and started to compose music.1993, Olivier became resident dj in Grenoble. Only a year later the live act ‘Oxia’ (Olivier & Stéphane) was born.1995, Olivier and Stéphane meet Michel Amato (The Hacker), Alex Reynaud and Kiko in Grenoble. Together with Kiko, Olivier creates Ozone records on which Oxia released their first EP in 1995 which was influenced by American techno (Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Damon Wild...). Also on this label Olivier co-produced the first releases of Jack de Marseille and made a couple more EP’s with Stephane before splitting up though as good friends. Oxia became Olivier his solo project.
In 1998 Olivier decide to create a new label with The Hacker and Alexandre Reynaud. They baptized it ‘Goodlife’ in homage to the mythical Inner City track.
Both personality and sound evolved, giving birth to a series of EP’s & remixes on Goodlife but also on other prestigious labels (such as Intec, Monoïd, Terminal M, Missile, Scandium, …) leading to a busy worldwide dj-diary.A page still unfolding, in 2004 Oxia released his debut solo album ‘24 HEURES’ on Goodlife. His first full album floats between groovy melodic techno & deep electro.Though Oxia got more and more into an eclectic trip mixing uplifting groovy minimal house & techno, 'atmospheric' techno...
And in 2006 he release an EP on Kompakt , with the famous track 'Domino', which became a world “hit” admired by the whole electronic scene, and sold over 20000 copies. He produce also some tracks on Tsuba Records with Eric Borgo, on Confused... and finally back on Goodlife with his EP 'Lost Memory'.
2007 was therefore an extremely busy year for Oxia touring major festivals and clubs, not only solo but also together with his good friend Agoria for an amazing battle 'Agoria vs Oxia'!
2008 is equally successful with top selling remixes, and reaching a n° 2 & n°3 spot in the Beatport Music Awards (category best remix & best techno artist).
